Extremely boring person
I apologize for the error; the room with three sinks is the JACK & JIL_ FUII Bah #2, which is completely different.

SIR I will have you know that the floor plan already contains a clearly-labeled Jack & Jill bathroom. It contains nothing except three sinks, as per architectural tradition.

This is very true, although I legitimately do wonder if JJ would've been non-injury benched before last week if Wentz were still alive, because Wentz was clearly better (that is damning with faint praise) and they still had slight playoff hope.

Today reminded me of the Joe Webb Game, where I went in really excited just to see someone other than the existing terrible QB, and it turns out that actually playing NFL quarterback is quite difficult and there are people worse at it than Christian Ponder.

This year was reminding me of the Washed Brad Johnson season under Childress, but I had totally forgotten about the Wynn era (which I think was just one very sad game that I watched on a 13" TV that could barely pick up a signal)

I need to know if this power extends into other areas because I would really like them to bring back Kickin' Kiwi Lime Kool-Aid.

That's the worst part - this has been like the Brad Childress Brad Johnson era, absolutely lifeless.

As insane as it sounds, this is one of my strongest pro-death-penalty feelings because of the level of "I am not willing to live in a society" it displays.

I am a Twins fan by regional and family allegiance, but I really got into baseball as a kid because of Cubs games on WGN - not only were most of their games on basic cable, but they also played mostly in the afternoon.

Two years ago I was at a Vikings-Chargers game in Minneapolis and there was a guy in a concession line wearing a Bortles jersey. I sent a pic to my kids and they replied with a "Good Place" gif. One of my favorite ever random jersey sightings.

Why is it "opt out" instead of "opt in"?

very excited to see how a company with $13B in annual revenue pays for $250B in compute costs

"California legislative candidate and former NFL player Chris Kluwe is under fire this morning, after reports surfaced that his 'things I have written' tattoo actually features the collected works of Chuck Tingle."

My dorm floor of nerds had a weekly Cheesy Movie Night for the dumbest-looking film we could find at the local video store. Yeah, you can do that on Tubi or whatever, but I don't think the discovery of "Gore-met: Zombie Chef from Hell" would have hit the same without the physical search.

My other big question (given the "momentum" discussion) would be whether the teams that failed the first two-pointer were less likely to get either the subsequent defensive stop or the second TD - i.e. that failure is so deflating that it essentially loses the game immediately.

This whole discussion is also sidestepping the issue of opponent quality... eventually Tarik Skubal is gonna end up with the postseason strikeout record in part by beating a bunch of 84-win teams.
October 15, 2025 at 4:08 PM
True... my thought was that it was slightly more apples-to-apples because of the number of games available, but yeah, it's a lot more difficult to make the World Series now (and a lot more random regarding who does).
October 15, 2025 at 4:04 PM
The better stats are specifically round-based (most World Series HR), but ironically that PENALIZES guys from the modern Dodgers - if it was still "best record in the league goes to the Series" they'd have a bunch more appearances rather than being subject to the randomness of playoffs.

One time I pulled an all-nighter to finish a project I'd barely started that was due the next day, then used the play-by-play of the all-nighter as my Collegian column to turn in the day after that.

I'm sure if I tried that now I'd get fired and/or die, but that is not the point.

Defense doesn't get factored into WPA, AFAIK (for hitters, it's basically just win probability before and after a plate appearance), so his terrible number with the Twins was basically all because he was so bad hitting in the clutch.

There was only one good combined no-hitter, and it was the one where Babe Ruth got thrown out after walking the first batter.

Heard you say "I don't snack at the office" while I was literally foraging for an afternoon snack, and I actually said out loud "what the hell, Dan".

Also, keep kicking that cancer's butt.
