I live in Hickory, North Carolina, am a hobby homesteader, a flyer of many things, and that kind of stuff.
The girls are interested in making things and Felicia especially is interested in fiber arts, so the textile section was a big hit.

India Trickle Post 8: Day 2 Craft Museum. After a fast-food type of lunch at the Khan market, we went to the National Crafts Museum (nationalcraftsmuseum.nic.in). The girls enjoyed seeing the formal exhibits as well as dancers and craftspeople selling their products.

Our tour guide convinced the girls to take this picture together, and I'm glad she did! The Mughals would travel down to this area in the winter, when it was cold in their homeland that we now call Afghanistan. We would see several more of their sites on our trip, because they loved building!

India Trickle Post 7: Day 2 in Delhi, Second Stop, Humayun's tomb. More history: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humayun...
This was a beautiful complex that was built by the Mughals. They say this site was selected due to its proximity to the Sufi Saint which we visited the tomb of the night before.

To the left in this picture you can see an ancient iron pillar which has Sanskrit writing from the fourth century. Many centuries later, this complex was expanded by folks who travelled down from modern-day Afghanistan in the 1200s.

Picking back up with our India trip from 2024 (post 6): Day 2 in Delhi. Our tour guide today was a nice lady and her first stop was the Qutb Minar. This is a huge and ornate sandstone tower that reflects a time in history when the borders were drawn differently than today.

India Trickle Post 4: Gandhi Smriti.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gandhi_...
This is the site of the assassination of Gandhi, which now houses a very nice museum about his life and works. There is a series of dioramas that depict some of the key moments in his life, and India's quest for independence.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_T...
It was a peaceful place with interesting architecture, and is a place of worship for the Baháʼí. Their faith includes an emphasis on unity for all people and the worth of all religions.

India Vacation Trickle Post #1
We took a family vacation to the "Golden Triangle" in North India last month. Our first attraction to visit was Lodi Garden in Delhi. It is a peaceful urban park to visit in the morning, and we even saw an owl! en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lodi_Ga...
