Not sure how I feel about Craig Bellamy (left) becoming the new manager of Reading FC. I have nothing against the Welsh but Bellamy is a bit mouthy for me. We should have gone for someone quieter and deeper like Leam Richardson (right)! 😃 #readingfc #TheTilehurstEnd @webberross.bsky.social

Satanists! As there is no description of the Devil in the Bible he/she had to be invented by artists! They did a fabulous job of imagining the unimaginable. So in Art’s Most Satanic next Tuesday on Sky Arts at 9pm I throw caution to the waves and go Devil hunting! And I end up in weird places!

Violence - it’s swirling about us with fresh vigour. But it’s always been there. And art has always been around to record it. That’s the subject of the 2nd film in my new series on Sky Arts. I love Kenneth Clark’s ‘Civilisation’ but it did avoid huge slabs of crucial territory.

So to make my Soutine sequence in Art’s Most Horrific - the second film in my new series starting on Sky Arts on Sept 30 - I had to find a dead cow to hang up. Easier said than done!!! In the end, a Polish butcher came to my rescue. What a top nation the Poles are! #SkyArts #Sept30

My daughters with Lou Reed and Salman Rushdie. I got to know Lou when I was at Channel 4 and put on an entire night devoted to the Velvet Underground. Presented by Debbie Harry! We became pally. I didn’t know Rushdie was a fan till he turned up at this gig. Hello Salman!

There’s a gentleness to it, a sense of domesticity which I like. It will bring out the feminine side in our fans. It’s apparently based on an old Huntley&Palmers biscuit tin design. So that’s a direct link to Reading’s past. Thoughtful.
