Change in Abstract

shows how often I’ve indexed in the past decade (once) that my strongest instinctive reaction is “only index in page proofs, only index in page proofs, only index in page proofs”

also, wow, I still miss indexing, by far the most enjoyable work I’ve done
Microsoft’s XE field-based indexing function has been around for more than 20 years without them fixing the part where your pagination is ruined unless 1) you hide non-printing characters (Preferences, not a toolbar button) and 2) remember to update the index one last time

The Fool’s Errand

close competition:
Oxyd

(disqualified from saying Hidden Agenda [1988] by not having known and/or remembered that its name was stolen for a completely unrelated game in 2017)
In years past I would have said Emperor of the Fading Suns, but they did that a year or two ago and it was kind of underwhelming. It needs a sequel, not a remaster.
My real answers would be either Front Lines or Empire II, two mid-90s war games played by me and up to possibly a dozen other people

things I miss from the UES: pumpkin pie slice BOGO season on delivery apps
This got me thinking….how do we as a society normalize pumpkin pie as a breakfast option at restaurants year round? Who will be the change we want to see in the world?
It turns out Mina and I have identical pie takes (literally had home made pumpkin pie for breakfast this morning before kids woke up).

Watch my statement below. Mr. President, release the transcript.
