The lights look perfectly practical and innocuous IMHO. But of course - as with so many globally significant conflicts - they did not ask me 😉🤷♀️

I’m now silently going through my carefully curated collection of Bavarian exclamations to see if any of them fit (wos?! Zefix! Ja moi etc). Will keep an ear open for possible matches when out shopping later. May have to cause a major incident in order to generate appropriate response material 😉

Oh yes! I’m only too familiar with this “trick” 😁 . Along with my own superpower of quietly turning (German) sentences around to avoid revealing I don’t know the gender of a noun 😉.

Quite. But even without the incident, the idea of using images of an animal widely used to symbolise “fat” does indeed seem an odd choice for promoting *underwear* sales 🤷♀️

I’ve definitely experienced this. When, for example, I hear an important announcement (radio, television, tannoy etc.) in German or English and can’t understand why my German husband or English brother can’t understand it because it’s in the wrong language for them.

For some reason “Quiet, piggy” immediately sprang to mind. I certainly wouldn’t be encouraged to shop at a store comparing women to pigs, no matter how clean and intelligent actual pigs are supposed to be.
