Sorry, not a few blocks. But only about 8 miles. A 15 minute drive. And his son had already organized a protest to meet outside the house that evening. Authorities feel that was to create confusion and give cover for a run to the Embassy.

The only thing I know is he was caught trying to remove his ankle monitor. An alert went off & authorities investigated. He said he was just "experimenting" w/ a soldering iron. At that point, his house arrest was suspended due to him being a flight risk. He lives a few blocks from the US embassy.
