Heard from my chum over in Vancouver today. Traffic going over the US border these days is so reduced the usual 1-2 hour queues are no more. The city of Blaine a popular shopping destination with Canadians is seeing many businesses close plus the ricochet towards Seattle is a reality too.

Deeply weird and menacing scenes in Minneapolis. ICE agents sat in masks and balaclavas in unmarked, often blacked out cars, watching local residents. They themselves being observed by a network of locals, trying to deter them from mounting raids. Profoundly abnormal.

@redcarclevelandbc.bsky.social Imagine how delighted I was to get the YouTube notification that the previous day's full council meeting was available to watch this normally takes weeks to be uploaded. However the quality of the volume renders it unlistinable! Please fix ASAP.

They wasted 14 years putting millions through hell. They deserve annihilation - political dinosaurs the lot of em.
Is this same Kemi Badenoch who was Secretary of State for Business for 18 months until April 2024? If so, why the hell didn’t she do that then?

Been lots of press/radio about it being ten years....ten years since Bowie died. It was a terrible week not only did Bowie leave us but also the wonderful Terry Wogan then Alan Rickman who was such a talent. All gone but never to be forgotten. 💔

I gather the USA bought the US Virgin Islands from Denmark in 1917 for $25 million? 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (called the Treaty of Danish West Indies), 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐒 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲.

Hi @simonmarksfsn.bsky.social according to a Danish MEP on tonight's Newsagents podcast there's a 1916 agreement which means Trump's plans are irrelevant re Greenland. This is good news.

A very interesting interview/drive this morning with Paddy O'Connell & Sheila Hancock. She recently took her Advanced Driving Test something I've been promising myself for at least 20 years. As next summer will see me having to renew my drivers licence think I'll keep that overdue promise.

Another day with plenty of aircraft activity - so obvious with such a glorious blue cloudless sky. I know our #RAF are keeping us safe, patrolling our waters & skies. I feel safe but know truly we are at war.

Great work, Trump voters. We've got a guy representing us on the world stage that can't string together a single coherent sentence, randomly threatens war crimes, doesn't understand the most basic concepts of science, and yet thinks he's in line for a Nobel Prize. We are a laughingstock.
