Family silk. Proud Welshwoman. Cricket fan and not just for the picnic!
Have you read the apology?

I remember that too. In the Bear Garden trying to find out what exactly was the order I was told to seek! Said the magic words. Order made. Left none the wiser.

Good point. The second reference to Wales shouldn’t be there. My primary point is that she deserves a wider audience. That said there is much on BBC Wales that does. Fliss however is really a class act who should progress.

I was on the cusp of buying one just around the time when he got so embroiled in election politics. It was a fantastic car but I couldn’t bring myself to support his business.

How is it proposed a judge can be satisfied on this aspect? To what extent will there be a proper enquiry into it? Will the judge have discretion on these decisions or are they simply there to rubber stamp the process once the medical evidence shows that P has capacity and approaching end of life?

Me too
November 30, 2024 at 5:13 AM
Exactly that. Those who said they were satisfied that all the necessary safeguards were in place simply haven’t thought this through at all.
Mariella Frostrup on Q Time cited her mother’s dementia to inform her support. Capacity likely to be lost long before death in six months could be predicted.

I can’t see how a judge is going to be able to examine and be satisfied about that without a full and detailed hearing including evidence from the patient.

Seems to me that as drafted the court is merely a rubber stamp process if criteria met. Pointless in those circumstances and something of an abuse of the HIgh Court. I sense it’s there simply to provide some reassurance although in reality it does not.

I have a three year old grandchild and can attest to the power of the cross examination that just keeps asking the question “why?”
