I love that my lazy arse has been in front of a TV since 1 o’clock 😂

My poor conflicted mother, who has competed for both Scotland and New Zealand 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ And she’s sat here yelling at the Arsenal Sunderland match while I settle for the laptop.

I'm sat here, an only somewhat lapsed Kiwi, admittedly wearing an England shirt, really sad for them :( That was an opportunity.

Mind blowing. Last school's excuse seemed to be "Iffley Road pool is too far away" (1.8km, and they had mini buses).

Remember trekking to Kilbirnie every freaking morning from far-flung corners of Welly for ten years? I REMEMBER.

That is heartbreaking. The same thing happens here. I'm always stunned how many people in England can't swim too. UK Gov't even made swimming lessons mandatory in schools, yet my son's last two schools (not current one - they've got a 25m pool and they use it) just... didn't.

Not only am I not over how photos from the 90s look like they're from the 60s, but it is, in fact, getting worse.

My son has announced, as he does every time New Zealand plays rugby on TV in his earshot, that he is actually a Kiwi (he is the most English person I know, but he does have the passport)👍

I finished The Candy House a few weeks ago, also by Jennifer Egan. Phenomenal.

... it was possible to avoid clashes with existing competitions, because besides the NCAA, swimming doesn't have existing months-long multi-nation leagues like rugby.

Notably, this also required a billionaire to make the league operational, and it failed when he couldn't pay wages anymore.
