Imagine trying this hard to understand what the strange hairless apes are saying to you, when your brain is just one small scoop of mashed potato 💚

There are two wolves inside of you. One runs marathons. The other has been in this chair since one o’clock and has one more rugby game yet to watch.

The face you make after making the mistake of taking nine ten year old boys to an Arsenal match when you could’ve been sitting alone in a dark room somewhere 🙃❤️ #coyg

Nearly made the mistake of forgetting these before spending an hour on a bus to the Emirates with nine ten year olds. Literally ran home to fetch them 🫡 #coyg ❤️🤍

Sweet sixteenth. 27 January 2009 🇬🇧 Arrived with two suitcases and a five year visa.

They’ll laugh at you, they’ll call you names, they’ll say you’ll fail, they’ll be wrong. Here’s to ignoring all the conditioning to appease the crabs in the bucket, and choosing your future.

Always acknowledge the day you won your freedom.

17 January 2009, I left Seattle with two suitcases and a UK visa, which I took with me to London nine days later.

Sixteen years well spent 🇬🇧 🩷

A very messy 24 hours in 🇳🇱 with Bekki and Eyad. We were all coached by my dad, Eyad 15 years later than Bekki and me, and we’d never hung out altogether before. From Syria to Napier, via West Auckland, to an Irish pub in Amsterdam 😂

My child, from the southernmost of all the southerns, sees one flake of snow and claims school will be cancelled and he should, by rights, go back to bed ❄️

Friends, please send me recommendations as to who to follow on here. Literary realism, CNF/memoir writing, NCAA and world swimming, distance running, German Shepherds...

Definitely not paying for the bird app if that's where it's going.

Absolutely bloody delighted with this. This one means more than many of them have. “Just to You”, long listed in the 2023 Brick Lane Bookshop Short Story Prize 💚🤘

March -> August.

She spent the day helping me sub pieces about misogyny in tech (complete with email receipts), urban noir and cleaning an AR-15 as a metaphor for my mid-twenties. It’s no wonder she’s tired 😂
