Trying to be a serious person, but probably thinking about X-Men and Star Trek.
They closed the Toby Carvery in MK and replaced it with the over-priced, under-performing Miller & Carter steak house. I was FURIOUS. Some people seem to think toby carvery roasts are bad but they're exactly what a roast should be like imo: unfussy and practically overflowing the plate.

Haha, genuinely that’s the only reason I bought issue #1 DECADES ago

Haha, Extreme Justice is EXACTLY the comparison point I had in my head, although I didn't mention it because I didn't want to have to explain DC's side of things in too much detail. Having now read it, my honest verdict is that you're not missing much.

Agreed. Why the fuck would anyone put mayonnaise anywhere near this?

The “eco” setting on mine takes almost 4 hours, which is maddening. But yeah, cycles are getting longer on newer machines because they use less water and heat it more efficiently than back in the day, and that means the actual cleaning takes longer too.

Quick washes don’t give enough time to dissolve the oil and sweat in fabric, which is especially an issue on bedsheets, but the main reason is that modern machines wash stuff primarily by mechanical action (it uses less water) so you really do wanna give them the full three hours.

I think Carol believes that, but I don't know that the writers do. If anything, she's avoided asking anything that would interrogate the idea, and even when she was specifically told she'd been doing that she didn't want to hear more. She's set on "I should fix this!" not "Should I fix this?"

Honestly I look forward to finding out what point the show is making, and that'll heavily depend on the conclusion. I do have some ideas, but mostly it's just nice to watch TV where the characters and situations are complex in an engaging way.

Like, people didn't ask for this to happen to them, but they also seem to be not just happy, but actively willing for the situation to persist. Unless she can prove otherwise, I just can't get on board with the "This is bad for me so it's bad for everyone" mindset she displays.

Ha. I can only applaud their commitment to never taking a break even once between 1998 and 2005.

Hahaha, god, I know. Last year I took my kid to a gig and I was like "last time I was in this venue was just after it opened which was... 19 years ago..." and yet my brain still thinks of it as "one of the new ones"

You too could be surprised by how many times you’ve seen Ash

hahaha, part of me would love it so much if they pulled that out of the bag. Retired since 1995, according to setlist.fm. Still time for a 30th anniversary celebration!

Yeah, The Bends, No Surprises, Street Spirit, paranoid Android. Airbag & Let Down were two I was excited to see though!

That’s the rumour at least! Fingers crossed for you.

Think they’re doing a US tour next year so hopefully you’ll get a chance too!

Right? If anything, those are even worse.
