I've had M.E. since my early teens, without really any medical support - there's no treatment or cure - so I was, selfishly, hoping that the emergence of long COVID (which seems very similar) in millions of people would push governments into research/support/etc... Nope. Just more forgotten people.
Struck repeatedly by how much of the ‘five years after Covid’ commentary, even by thoughtful voices, is sociological or economic, while for millions of people this remains an ongoing personal *medical crisis*: We are still sick, and we are not getting care!
I mean the people who are worst affected by the pandemic are those who died, and those of us who are still sick as a result, years later?
