I've been trying to express this for years. Thank you for capturing it so clearly. It's incredibly frustrating!
The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.

Hyun Sook and I have officially canceled our 4 month trip to the US.
We have planned this trip for years, I was about to announce events across the country, and Hyun Sook resigned from the job she loved and held for a decade so she'd be available.
But the US is no longer a safe place to travel.

I visited four different stores searching for non-USA brown rice and finally found a great Taiwanese brand.
I don’t buy much from the US, iPhones and Levi’s.
If I lose weight I can get back into old Levi’s for the next four years.
Some small food things I can now dodge.
Gradually easing out US podcasts and finding UK, NZ and Canada ones instead.
We can all cancel one US thing.
