I wonder about justified breaches. Maybe in some cases an apology is required, even though justified? (Bilbo trusts Frodo with his ring, does he need to apologize when he destroys it? I reckon not.)

This is perhaps unrelated to your main point, but still... When we moved into our house we had to gut the pantry because it was mouse-ridden. We found many things, including a pre-9/11 can of corn, rat poison, and two unwrapped Viagra pills.
