Introducing my new premium newsletter for
@wired.com, Inner Loop.

This inaugural edition is right in the wheelhouse of what you can expect — the intersection of Trumpworld and Silicon Valley billionaires — but if you'll indulge me in a thread on our new subscription.. www.wired.com/story/peter-...
The GOP's Message for Tech Billionaires: Be Like Peter Thiel
One lesson Republican insiders took away from Elon Musk's spectacular flameout? Be wary of billionaires who love the spotlight.

Trumpworld is fully circling the wagons with this announcement about supporting the Epstein files vote.

Pretty much every major staffer and adviser has tweeted about it in the past 20-30 mins

Trump has a super long Truth Social post about how everything is fine and that House Republicans should release the Epstein files, but also we really need to move on.

Not gonna do multiple screenshots on it. Life is too short and the Red Wings are on

Mike McDaniel snuck into the second row of the press conference room at the Bernabéu and managed to get in the final question to Dolphins RB Ollie Gordon II:

In fairness to Packer and his novel, the US has had an opening for a Michel Houllebecq-type public intellectual role for quite some time
in the actual real world secret police are disappearing americans on behalf of an openly white nationalist government but george packer’s latest is a novel about a world beset by woke totalitarianism

Note: After similar ads targeting Ruben Gallego aired as he visited Iowa, he announced he was re-evaluating his position on providing weapons to Israel, and subsequently led a Senate letter calling for sanctions on violent Israeli settlers
As Cory Booker visits New Hampshire, this @imeupolicy.bsky.social ad is airing:

"When a majority of Senate Democrats voted to block Trump’s weapons giveaways to Israel, Senator Booker voted with Republicans to keep the weapons flowing…Booker isn’t fit to be the Democratic nominee for president."

The Epstein Files bill that's about to overwhelming pass says, "The Attorney general may withhold or redact the segregable portions of records that...would jeopardize an active federal investigation or ongoing prosecution, provided that such withholding is narrowly tailored and temporary"
Oh boy, Trump calls for an Epstein investigation on everyone else but him

If we're good with the metaphor of letting your brain marinade in whatever on X, what's the apt version for Grok?
JD Vance: "I'm a Grok guy. I think it's the best. It's also the least woke."

Also a key question for those of us on the Trump beat!
A serious question, for anyone who wants to engage in our economic debate: How should we talk about nonsense?

I have long given up on assuming anyone cold pitching me on a topic or PR thing has ever considered looking me up and seeing what I've written about
And know what the journo does/doesn't cover before contacting them. I, for example, don't cover products/services. And I only cover companies when they've done something wrong or there's a compelling reason to cover them. Read my work before contacting me to know what I cover.

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.
