It’s a dark time, but still I remain resilient. I hope all of you are doing well, and hope that we can return to brighter times in the future. For now though, you are all beautiful and precious, in ways intrinsic and immovable. Happy Trans Day of Visibility.

Reminded today that in HTML a number input is for an actual count of things, not an input who’s value only consists of numbers (like a zip code). It’s simple and comes up often.

My hope is that these centrist, abandon your principals to win types are dead in the water after this betrayal. Who fucking cares about winning if your own party makes you lose?

Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.

Democrats need leftist primary challengers, clearly, since we have so many feckless “centrists” who can’t tolerate any disruption or risk. They are a millstone to Democrats both as an opposition party, and as a governing entity.

Men never really get to experience how systemic predation is from men towards non-men, so they argue that it doesn’t exist or is exaggerated.

What I think is so funny about these “don’t move to X when NYC fails” statements is that I grew up in NYC, and for my whole upbringing I thought that America was more or less like New York. So the culture shock of actually leaving the city and finding out most places don’t have sidewalks? Crazy.

New Yorkers, the law is clear: if you have an EBT balance, a store that accepts SNAP must allow you to use your card.

In local politics, Jim McGreevey—who had an extramarital affair with a male staffer and resigned as governor—got the endorsement of Garden State Equality for mayor of Jersey City last July, in which they said he was a gay icon, which, lol. McGreevy advanced to the runoff on December 2nd.

There’s just this sort of radical fence-sitter for whom no progress is enough, all movements are flawed and corrupted, whose opposition is theoretical and rhetorical. I’m not here for it, go on with that bullshit.

Yeah, so if I start talking about sex, passports, and their effects on trans people and you respond by talking about passports being bourgeoisie, what exactly do you fight for?

Passports didn’t list sex until the 1970s when governments around the world stated freaking out about men with long hair and unisex clothes. Now we pretend like this was some always set, eminently important thing that must carry value. We only got it as enforcement of binary gender.

I legitimately don’t know how much awareness cis Americans have about the level of malice the Trump administration has towards trans people. I suspect it’s no more than knowing they are generally against trans people, but the specifics of how and the extent of it is beyond them.

Anyway, after a day of peace and just prior to trans awareness week, the Supreme Court says fuck trans people and lets Trump misgender passports.

"Why don't people support welfare programs?"
Racism. More specifically, anti-Blackness.
White folks asked about who welfare serves overestimate the number of Black people on welfare. Not only that, but just the mere THOUGHT of who welfare supports led less white people to support it. #blacksky

Trump fucking up the economy I think unites Democrats as a whole to focusing on economic issues, ideally with shades of socialism. ACA subsidies being the baseline, stuff like Mamdani’s universal childcare being, I think, the easiest thing that Democrats across the country can align on.

This is basically the DSA if we’re being honest. No reason why Democrats more broadly could not emphasize community in their organizing.
ah, perhaps instead of pumping millions into endless factional infighting Dem donors could invest in making local Dem organizations genuine civic spaces that can reach people during and between elections
