In this administration, it not only needs to be asked, it needs to be satisfactorily answered (and DJT failed to do so, again). The jobs numbers affect so many things and, until a few months ago, they could be trusted.

I believe you've answered your own question. The hierarchy is truer than reality. No matter what "fact" he's presented with, if it goes against his "known truth", said fact can't possibly *be* true. Ergo, he *can't* be lying. He mustn't sacrifice any of "his truth" (lest it all comes crashing down).
