They may well already be "ahead of legislation”, a place where forward-thinking employers aspire to be.

Bad employers, on the other hand, may object but now need to get their act together & improve. By law.

An excellent step forward. This is what we voted for.

What's more, I have personally benefited from enhancements to employment rights. The accompanying feeling of increased security should not be under-estimated. Motivating and reassuring.

So, in my humble opinion, good employers have nothing to fear from improvements to employee rights.

Maybe I will.

So, without wanting to do a disservice to Blade Runner, "I’ve seen things you wouldn’t believe" in terms of organisational misconduct. I’ve also seen the good side and positive impact of leadership and employee relations. Good practice is good for business.

I’ve been on the receiving end of excellent managerial practice and serious malpractice. As an HRD my mind was blown on various occasions by the thinking at the top of businesses when it comes to how employees should be treated; I could write a blog about the horrendous behaviours of some managers.
