Cool. Not been keeping up with the Bushe and Marshak stuff. I once described it, rather cynically, as Alban and Bunker revisited. I shouldn't be unkind as they namechecked me in a book.

I ran a 3 hour (sic) OS facilitation training for some Environment Agency people. Towards the end I put on a cloth cap and told them: when you step into the circle, remember this: "There's no need to be la di da or uppity" sang, with accompanying slide. All you need, really. The rest is mechanics.

It's not documented but I'm certain that Open Space, invented by Harrison Owen in 1985, was simply an IRL version of Usenet bulletin boards. Then, in 2002, Gabriela Ender launched Open-Space Online, completing the circle. Image text excerpted from The OT Story, written by John Adams at OT6 in 1988.
