We said it before the Budget. And we're still saying it.

🏠 The mansion tax is a policy in the right postcode but it's the wrong address.

It won't raise enough + it's messier and less targeted than a wealth tax.

Caitlin Boswell, from our team, broke it down on BBC Politics Live.

"We have been tracking support for Reform UK back even before it was the Brexit Party. Our data consistently shows that increasing the temperature on immigration and asylum has no benefit for the government. Indeed quite the opposite," writes Jessica Frank-Keyes.

The Express directly associating a gay man they don't like with a notorious paedophile in a headline. That's not an accident.

It'd be a terrible shame if such an egregious smear backfired and increased support for the Greens!

There are MPs still interacting with the far right on X. A platform designed and run to undermine the UK and to shatter its values with hatred and violence. They're talking to people who want to deport them and who despise every word they say - and let's face it, don't believe they have any rights.

Nigel Farage is probably delighted today that Reform have the most members of a political party.

It doesn't have to be this way.

180,000 and rising. Hope ready to overtake hate.

Stand and be counted.

Starmer has aligned himself, again & again, with Trump, not Mamdani.

Even as Trump’s regime works actively to promote Farage & nationalist politics across Europe.

But then again, from Starmer’s behaviour you’d think he’s promoting Farage, too🤷‍♀️

We have to get to a point as a country where we figure out who we are and what we stand for, if anything.
Or are all principles and values up for grabs now?
There is a difference between diplomacy and servile fawnery.
Or there should be.

So Labour can moan about Greens being unrealistic as much as they want, but who is the bigger fantasist: the people who know the house is on fire and something radical is needed? Or the people saying "this is fine" as the roof falls in?

Just unfollowed an account for reposting a pile on. One of the many problems with this kind of platform is "that person with a PHD in this field has an account and so do I. Therefore our opinions are equal." Except also Dunning-Kruger.

There are some people who seem to see the recovery of ecosystems in a deforested waste as a personal affront. It's about power, and different landscapes reflect the different ways in which power is distributed - or concentrated.

Extreme inequality is poisoning democracy, stalling growth, and fuelling division.

At the upcoming Budget, the Government can stop the rot if they tax the super-rich, end the cuts and protect public services.

A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

Have been thinking about “immigration has been tearing this country apart.” Surely I’m not the only person to think that it isn’t true, but inflamed rhetoric about immigration by politicians is what is tearing this country apart and so statements like that only makes it worse.

Yep, same. What has driven them to this?
How have Labour watched the Tories spend 2-3 years parroting Farage then lose an election badly and conclude a similar strategy is the best course of action?
