Big day for this first gen!!
Going to college was a big deal. Going to grad school was a big shock. Publishing my first paper was unbelievable. And now, having my work cited over 1000 times feels simply surreal. Thanks to everyone who has read and cited my scholarship :)

When we moved to the Bay Area for my partner’s job, I didn’t know a soul. But almost immediately, @ryanlinnbrown.bsky.social and @sanjanacurtis.bsky.social became my closest friends. It’s hard to form new, deep connections as an adult, but it’s like the three of us have known each other forever.

Out of oral surgery. The procedure apparently went well. I had hoped that the surgeon would be able to place the implant, despite him basically telling me it was impossible. He (unsurprisingly) wasn’t able to do it, so I am down a molar for the next 3 months. At least my Halloween costume is sorted.

I really do like my dentist, but I genuinely do not believe that anyone has ever had a “big smile” while at a dentist’s office. My only goal at the dentist is to enter and exit with as little pain and expense as possible.
