By using FontForge on a PDF from the website for the campaign (web.archive.org/web/20051223...); I can confirm that they are indeed using the illegal clone version of the font, rather than the licensed one!

The extent of sea ice globally is now at an absolute record low level for the entire satellite-era.

The usual January cruise in the Baltic. Stopped in Kokkola, where Finnish Seamen's Mission nicely gave us a ride, as the harbor offers no transportation. Which they should.

The extent of #Arctic sea ice is still a record low and is currently more than 400,000 square kilometers less than the prior record for today's date. This previous record was set in 2016. The data here is from JAXA's Arctic Data archive System.
Line graph time series of 2024's daily Arctic sea ice extent relative to the record low for each day. All days in 2024 were above the previous record until mid December.

I photographed this Palaemon elegans in 2024 on a beach in Helsinki, Finland. While probably not a direct result of the marine heatwave present at time, it is an invasive species.
