We are the ‘United States’ of America, a part of America- not the whole of America. PR isn’t a state, nor a separate country and it was special to see the cultural context platformed. Think of how dominant German culture is in the US; Hamburgers (Hamburg), beer (lagers, Miller), bratwurst (hot dogs)

Amazing! The set looked like the PR sugar cane fields my grandpa worked in/ has photos of.
Not at all surprised to learn that Bad Bunny has a historical adviser. His halftime show was a reminder that our history and culture are deeply intertwined with the rest of the western hemisphere. We should think of his performance as part of #America250. #SuperBowl

Pop star Bad Bunny needed a Puerto Rican history scholar. UW–Madison had just the one.
Bad Bunny collaborated with UW–Madison history professor Jorell Meléndez-Badillo on Puerto Rican narratives that accompany the new album “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.”

Agree. Andrea’s podcast is insightful, and Schumer (and others) could be much more effective at advocating for his constituents and our human rights.
Listen up! Andrea Pitzer is a clear, vital, voice with a historical perspective on the situation we're living thru. And, lots of practical ideas about what can be done.

Worth everyone's time. And, never boring!

Some people are asking what I want Schumer to do. He should be screaming over medical care and access to facilities. He should be going to detention facilities himself and putting his body on the line, as he did at the border in 2019. He should lean into stories about New Yorkers in detention. [1/4]

Healthcare musing: Why can’t we fund healthcare that includes dental & vision? Why are teeth and eyes usually separated out from most healthcare plans? Why not have healthcare that’s “all inclusive”?

Reading about the history of wool and woolens is not boring, actually. Silly laws to protect the commodity and textile industry? Check. Harsh punishment for individuals convicted of ignoring woolen policies? JFC. Self-preservation policies are harrowing. www.british-history.ac.uk/statutes-rea...
