If you're coming by car from Liège, definitely take the scenic route through the Ardennes. You could stop at Clervaux and Vianden (most beautiful castle in the country), then head towards Echternach and drive through the Mullerthal www.mullerthal.lu on the way to the city.

If you want to try something typically Luxembourgish, get some vegetarian Kniddelen (flour dumplings) at umdierfgen.lu and Gromperekichelcher (potato pancakes) at lequaisteffen.lu or maybe www.brasserie-du-cercle.lu

Literally the best veggie restaurant in the world! www.bourglinster.lu/en/#restaura... Super expensive because they have a Michelin star and they move in January so probably not an option. The brasserie is more affordable, the food is amazing and it's inside a castle, totally worth it!
