Spurred into reading this as Carol Morley's own adaptation was recently being filmed literally round the corner from ours. It's flippin' marvellous, and of special interest to someone who's spent a lot of time in and around the Stockport area, and ran into Ms Morley once or twice, back in the day.

Vowed not to bore people with my fantasy football exploits, but we all like to see a #HMHB -themed team name doing well, don't we?

Couldn't resist this 'lovely' screen print at last week's Prims gig.

Currently reading Carol Morley's semi-autobiographical novel 7 Miles Out and this passage, in which 'Ann' describes her first trip to Maine Road, has really tickled me. Not least to see 'Clements' listed among such exalted company. No room for Marsh, Tueart or Hartford - no, Kenneth Henry Clements.

Not sure what you mean.

Can confirm this absolutely true. When discussing the forthcoming Marty Supreme film - which I'm very much looking forward to - with my mate earlier, I casually used the name 'Tiffany Chevrolet' and he didn't bat an eyelid.

I used to play in the same football team as the lad on the receiving end of this shocking incident. It's fair to say he's milked it a bit over the years and I suppose you can't blame him. Still, it must feel strange to have a lifelong claim to fame of being a dartboard in human form.

The new Carol Morley film is currently being shot literally round the corner from our house. I'm a fan of Carol's stuff and, though I haven't read the book, really looking forward to this one.

Over 60s concession price of £117, inc 3 complimentary tickets and £20 merch voucher! It's a great vibe, I love it.

As Christmas approaches I often think of poor John Sheridan, and whether or not he's now in the happy position of being able to buy his kids a present or two.

#HMHB on a Friday night. Nothing like it. Ready to go in Wolverhampton!

Worth remembering.

Why scrapping VAR for offside decisions should never ever be even considered. Well at least not while Haaland is still at City.

Really enjoyed this sparkling debut and would be very surprised if a TV or big screen adaptation isn't on the horizon.

The Bookmark, Urmston, Jan/Feb 1972. Bought for 50p, aged 8, after being bedazzled by the Gibb bros on TotP.

Will have been consigned to the dustbin of history (or just the dustbin) in the ground zero purge of 1977/78.

A numbered 'Thru the Flowers'! Great stuff. It's just been treated to a 40th anniversary 'reimagining'.

Luckily, Erika loves the Prims too, and has agreed that spending Valentine's Night in Barcelona is a splendid idea. Hurrah!

Frankie & The Heartstrings - Hunger (2011)

Superb debut from Sunderland's finest. Clearly 80s influenced (Orange Juice/Dexys/Smiths are reference points) but still managing to sound fresh and exhilarating. #RIPDaveHarper #5debutalbums1014

My next-door neighbour @traincurator.bsky.social is as avid a Buzzcocks fan as I am, but considerably more artistic. This is last year's rather cool pumpkin effort.

Without being aware of a single word of this, our prime minister was nevertheless happy to blithely tweet 'this is the wrong decision'. The man is demonstrably not fit for purpose.
