trail running in the twin cities, interspersed with reckless basketball takes. expect lurking and dormancy from this account.
The scariest part is how stupid they are.

Apple Vision Pro was the last great mainstream comedy

It's really cool of the Giants to just keep letting Lamonte Wade play first base. Most teams are so heartless they simply refuse to play the worst guys every single inning of every game.

in 2012 a friend and I found the yelp page for the travelodge from @themountaingoats.bsky.social palmcorder yajna. we used lyrics as reviews. over the years other folks did the same. always mixed in between real reviews. the place is gone now. did it get a headstone?

the Twins suck. and it was a gloomy cold windy night. BUT @nyctaper.bsky.social hit the real reason for the low attendance: "It's a Monday in April"

this is just 📠
It’s a Monday in April.
In 2023 the Twins won the AL Central. On Monday April 10 they played at home and the attendance was 12,078.
In 2019 the Twins won 101 games. On Monday April 15 they played at home and attendance was 11,727.

okay now that you all have gotten a taste of America's rational and predictable new trade policy, everyone who wants to build your new factories here just form an orderly line

This is not about protecting Jews, and as Jews it is our responsibility to call out this performative fascism for what it is.

it's becoming clear the nba is being run by a powerful cabal of basketball podcasters who demand increasingly ridiculous content. Nico Harrison was a patsy. Michael Malone just got run over by ad-read moneys.

Feels late in his career to be getting this biography out.
Everyone pre-order this wonderful book on Anthony Edwards written by my friend @christopherhine.bsky.social

It’s terrific. www.harpercollins.com/products/ant...

there are worse songs than Young Folks, but none that have been so ruthlessly chasing me for so long. 19 damn years of this. that cursed opening whistle saying ‘gotcha again!’. I’m trying to eat pho here, in 2025, Peter born and john. Haunt someone else.

How many of your "do not tumble dry" items do you tumble dry anyway? How does it make you feel?

people say companies are getting more soulless but Capital One helps me conjure happy memories of my mom and I together, by continuing to send credit card offers for her to my house even though she died 15 months ago.

I've told a lot of people over the years that on 9/11 I didn't know what to do so I walked to Rasputin on Telegraph and bought Bob Dylan's Love and Theft and Jay-Z's The Blueprint which both came out that day.

But that is a lie. I illegally downloaded the Blueprint a few weeks later.

Saw a so-so experimental new age set last night. Bless their hearts. But it took me on a mental journey of music I'd rather be listening to...that led all the way back to Mouse on Mars. Why does nobody talk about Iaora Tahiti anymore. I guess that is just how time works.

"Whatever else is true of Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me, people are appalled not by its badness but its integrity..." I'm always grateful for the cascading series of righteous truth bombs dropped by Steve Erickson in this 1992 review, including a parting shot for the ages.

I’m just happy for all these extremely limited, flawed players who get the rare life experience of playing with Steph Curry. They get to wear real uniforms and everything.

"my first apartment" stories 2001-2002
1. too tall roommate would put cereal on too tall top shelf. I had to stand on the counter to get cheerios down. unkind.
2. other roommate had a rebellion against my hipster stereo domination. told me he could play what he wanted...and chose Seven Mary Three.

well chosen bumper stickers function today like the right band shirts did in the early aughts. only you also get to find out who's watching you park.

I recommend going with your favorite radio station, your favorite nature-y place, or something about space aliens.

should my first post be about how I bought my first pair of ice skates yesterday or about how I don't feel confident in my ability to express the whats/whys re: how bummed I am about the increasing dehumanization of everything.

I also got two sets of skate guards, hard and soft.
