(He/Him) I’m a big fan of video games, video game history, and anime.

Currently spending my spare time working on trying to find all of the digital pinball games released for consoles and handhelds. And playing Wacca. I love Wacca.
Getting ready to sell of some of our games tomorrow. I’ve long advocated for leaving price tags on games because they can tell their own sets of stories. It can’t be overstated how cheap many of these games used to be.

Figured I’d share since these are likely to lose their tags once I let them go.

From the Crunchyroll translation:

"Why did you give up on your search?
Why do you keep fighting by yourself?
Say, what kind of future did you prepare for?
Have you fulfilled your dream?"

This feels powerful juxtaposed with Sanji's cape showing the weight of the memories from how he left.

Neat finds! Pataank is something else for sure. I was lucky enough to get my copy autographed by Rob Fulop a few years ago. He was super cool and shared some neat stories. He also seemed a little exasperated that, of all the games he worked on, this was what I brought for him autograph. LOL

Was it maybe A Sign of Affection? I’ve heard from people who know sign language that this series does a great job depicting sign language. Here’s a page from a volume that’s still synced to my phone.

Mook was the first bun I lived with. She was sweet and majestic. I’d sneak into the carrot bag and pull a carrot top off for her as a little treat. As she ate them, they would spin like a propellor coming out of her mouth before disappearing completely. I’m happy we could be friends before she left.

There’s nothing to apologize for! We all like different things. There won’t be a single song on the list that isn’t someone’s favorite. I laughed so hard that my goofy hubris just so happened to line up with today’s entry.

I’m still laughing about it. 😆

LOL no way it totally is my favorite!

(It’s still fine and you still rock!)

The folks at that Funcoland were great and they always took good care of me. They got an extra preorder watch when it finally came it. The manager Melvin gave both of them to me because I stuck it out for so long.

(There’s a third one here that I found elsewhere in the wild many years later.)

I'm playing some Picross S Genesis & Master System and trying to guess each of the puzzles before the reveal.

We had two VCRs and I'd copy as much as I could. I didn't have much money so I copied them in LP or SLP. I wish I had been able to copy these at a higher quality. It's frustrating because later on I would save money by trimming out the commercials, which I'm the most interested in now. 3/3

Here's a block between two episodes so there are no eye catches for the one. I used to rent these from a Japanese general goods store back in the 90's. I originally started learning kana so I could translate the labels on the tapes to find the shows I was enthralled with. 2/3

It's so sad that Tomo Sakurai passed away. I just finished rewatching Macross 7 and wrapped it up with the one where Mylene sings Do You Remember Love.

I recently captured some Saint Tail footage from an old airing. Here are some of the commercial blocks, which are an interesting time capsule. 1/3

It’s wild how expensive everything is nowadays. I was fortunate to have had a good job and low bills when things were bottoming out like this in the mid 90s. There’s no way that our collection would be what it is now if we hadn’t started until 15 years ago.

The old days were truly wild.

Sony commercials are something else.

I too see three nines somewhere, start singing Galaxy Express 999 theme, and immediately fall back to just the cadences after the first line.

Loved that you called out the Mortal Kombat Live Tour. I still have my program and the handful of autographs that teenage me was able to get after the show in Columbus, Ohio.

I’m sorry. That’s a real bummer. Maybe a photo of Rupert with Don-chan on his head will help.

Found this Pinball vs Video Games segment while capturing a VHS tape of an Action Extreme Team cartoon block that aired on USA. It was in there multiple times. This one was between Highlander and WildC.A.T.S. episodes.

Kudos to the kid in the glasses for being the only one to get the right answer.

Finished scanning the Nakayoshi inserts from one of the issues that came out around Christmas. This one has a little cutout of a Christmas tree, some gift bags, and some decorations. I love this little inflatable Saint Tail wreath it came with.

I love how they chose to use Sakura in gremlin mode for this set of stickers.

Oh no! I missed Give Talcott a Columbus Present Day! Ummm...here's a photo of the AmeriFlora gate developed from poorly-aged 110 camera film.

It’ll take a bit because I have a bunch to go through.

Thanks for posting this! I’ve needed to prioritize scanning a bunch of my old Nakayoshi extras and such. I’m working on this today and I’ll make sure what I’m scanning gets up on archive.org.

I’ll share the link in case what I’m scanning is stuff you’re interested in.
