It appears winter is not messing around this year. Hasn't looked this wintry in early Dec in quite a while. #nlwx

What an absolutely perfect day for a walk through the fluffy snowy woods to have #TeaByTheSeaInTheTrees: Airport Nordic \ Gander Disc Golf edition. It was so silent out there it was loud. Not a breath of wind. Well done #nlwx, we didn't get any of this last year.

Based on what I can tell, this circled area might have ended up a bit further northwest than expected. So heads up to the SW, you may get more snow than expected this afternoon. #nlwx

Little #TeaByTheSeaInTheTrees: Thomas Howe Forest edition after and afternoon of trail maintenance. Great #nlwx for it, cold enough to keep the sweating to a minimum

Sunday tea watching the snow melt vibes. Not fully sure what this sheen is on really hot tea, but it reminds me of weather patterns, so I like it. Fluid dynamics baby. #nlwx

Tis a bit chilly, but at least #nlwx is obliging to let us see the encore acte of this solar storm

Possible big solar storm? ya'd better believe #nlwx will say... NAY NAY!.

Fences can totally make wind observations. #nlwx

Cold but not freezing, everything is some kind of shade of brown or grey, leaves flying by on the full horizontal due to the strong winds. If you could bottle this up, you would call it November. We do see some blue sky at least, typical for post-storm in this part of the world. #nlwx

Some data here subject to review, but list of currently available numbers shows numerous stations with peak gusts associated with the #NLwx weather bomb reaching well above hurricane force.

I mean, I hope this is obvious to anyone in Corner Brook... but this is a wind sensor glitch. #nlwx

Well if anyone in Gander is wondering why it's snowing... That's a good question. Zero guidance had accumulating snow here, only 1 had a bit of snow mixing in with the rain. Classic first winter storm shenanigans... may as well go for an opening round KO. #nlwx

After assessing and forecasting parts of this incoming storm, I am comfortable saying that I don't much care for it. I'd even be as bold to say that it's a jerk. There, I said it. Someone had to. #nlwx

Just to be clear. I'm not saying this is going to be another Hurricane Igor. It doesn't even come close to having the amount of precipitation. However, it's gonna be windy, but likely not the windiest we've ever seen. Coastal waters are gonna be high, but also likely not the worst we've seen. #nlwx
Looking through our historic storm tracks, (our records start in 2010) we have not seen a low this deep cross the Island before, since 2010. The closest was indeed Hurricane Igor, which was in the 950's, not 940's. Igor also didn't cross the Island, it remained just offshore to the east. #nlwx

I can be bitter and nerdy if you'd like. That game was like Star Wars, except this time the Empire Wins.
Baseball teaches us a lot of nice lessons. If you work hard, keep your integrity, and spend the GDP of a small nation on getting all the best players, you can really achieve anything.

Alright. I can definitely hate the dodgers now.

Ya'll are getting caught up under the wall just like the ball. It was only going to score 1 run. So yeah, maybe the game ends differently, but it also could have gone the exact same way. Move on, new game tomorrow, not against Yamamoto.

The evolution of Hurricane Melissa's mesovortices at peak strength.

Ahhh... La vie, quelle misere... Rainy day vibes. (No complaints, we really need this rain). #nlwx
