I was born in 1962, Yes, everyone smoked, and everything smelled like a dirty ashtray. Between that and unregulated air pollution, I grew up thinking it was normal to have a constant stinging sensation in my sinuses. Some things really have improved over the decades.

And the movie ends with a child. Somebody should check Kubrick's flight records. 🙃

Much like several other drugs.

Whatever happened to grand old American traditions like bank runs and 30% unemployment rates?

I thought that several things he did in 2017 would each prove to be the deal-breaker. I have no remaining confidence that any horrible act would suffice to permanently drive away his supporters.

Where is Vernor's popular? My partner is addicted to it, and she's the only person I know who's even heard of it. We're both California natives and still live there.

Despite the cliche, you could actually pay me enough to return to Xitter. The price would be very high, and I would offer no promises about my behavior once I get there. Of course, I doubt I'm the sort of "regular person" they're looking for.

So much for the safety of my little blue bubble. 😞

I've decided that I need not fret over hating people who hate me.

I love how it perfectly fills the entire central valley, like water filling a bowl. It amazes me that any weather condition can be that uniform over such a huge area.

I grew up in San Jose in the 60s and 70s, and occasionally encountered tule fog when my travels took me into the central valley. It really is unreal how thick it gets. The eeriest part to me was the way the fog deadened sounds.
