The most devastating thing I have done was to name my firstborn son after my deceased brother. Now every time my son gets sick, I have flashbacks to my little brother's cancer hospital stays and it completely unravels me. We just got back from the hospital for a stomach infection. I'm a wreck.

Newest loaf of cat for our home. This is Doodlebug. She joins our other adopted strays, Goose and Oreo. She's so petite. She was a stray at our new house who bonded with our daughter. ❤️

Screaming here because my family isn't here. My FIL is dying of cancer. My BIL was hit by a drunk driver on his motorcycle. And one of my sisters was just diagnosed with leukemia. All in the last 48 hrs. I'm screaming at the universe.

This Thanksgiving, I have never been happier to cut off my racist, homophobic, emotionally immature and narcissistic family. Breaking free of emmeshed family systems is worth it. The family trauma cycle ends with me.
