The burn is roaring high with dirty meltwater. [Big Rock in my pond, for older viewers who might be interested, is almost submerged.]

and relax

Kept a slice of lemon drizzle for me. I'm not that altruistic.

I have a small sofa in my current one-room living arrangement with Zig. I have just said to him, out loud: "why is it that you are always comfortable and I am always squashed?"
His view:

Didn't stay out for long because I'm not an idiot. Left the seeds on the deck for them.

Last of the snow pics. For today - the winter is yet young and you know I can't help myself. Not a bad stroll to fetch the post.

He wasn't at all sure about the whole "snow boots" thing

This is not my cat. It's not my pine marten either, but is sitting where the pine marten print was a couple of days ago.

Because he is an old man, he gets chillier than he used to, so I have bought him an INDOOR FLEECE! Mainly for the nights because I can't tuck his blankets over him and he was waking up cold. Toasty Zig.

Silent album: great idea. This piece: needs to work on emphasising the maths, even though it's about arty-farty people. "Difficulty of balancing" £125bn for our own people (repeating every year) and £30bn (a one-off). That's a hell of a lopsided seesaw.

I have bins to wheel to the lane, and a 40-litre water barrel to refill. My weather app keeps changing to say the next hour will be rain but only for an hour. Each hour. Feel like Charlie Brown.

Gonna have to get my coat and wellies and tough it out.

Managed to get Zig to stand on some paper 4 times in different places so I could get his foot measurements. Snow boot ordering is go. Tho now worrying they sell them in singles not pairs so I might have got him one for a front foot and one for the back. He'll have to bound like a lopsided antelope.

Dusting of snow, and mystery prints. Pine marten?

Slow cooker arrived. Washed. Tomorrow is the day of First Casserole. Reading the instructions, because I'm obedient. One question: I thought leaving it unattended was the whole point? There's covering your back legally, and there's being idiotic. Or both.

When I don't take his polite sitting-down death stare supper hints (half an hour early and I've just about dragged him into GMT now), he walks backwards pulling silly faces wagging his tail
