We had a group costume fall apart because of group dynamics (grade 4). Luckily before I bought a Mira wig. Instead my kid repurposed her Hermione costume into a schoolgirl vampire.

Briefly did it, it’s extremely hard with watercolour paints and sweaty kids. Also do not have open ended requests, just stick to classics (pokeball, stars, tiger face etc).

Yes, tv before bed is cuddling time with mommy. Doesn’t count. Even if we’re now watching kids reality cooking competitions instead of bluey.

And you don’t think they’ll really say Ah Goo ‘cause that’s in cartoons but they really do! Some babies also really say waaah exactly like that and not just wails.

My city used to do an annual Touch a Truck where they filled a shopping centre parking lot with construction trucks and an ambulance or fire truck and kids could sit in them. It was the best! The ambulance guys would show off their gear too.

This is gross and sad. But I saw a good comment somewhere that there are far fewer cheap drugstore brands or weird tween stores for girls to buy lip gloss and sparkly eyeshadow and what not. So I guess they’re buying $65 moisturizer instead?

It’s a real concern. I think making sure they have real hobbies/sports and not being shy about putting parental controls to restrict access. Personally just hoping social media becomes uncool in the next 5 years or so (ha!)
