Oh, that fountain pen (the Lamy Safari Griso) is a really good one! Hard to find, and can be expensive these days.

Or just get a couple in Manila? There’s a big fountain pen community there. I’d love to get to their fountain pen show one day, but I also really don’t love traveling. 😅

I use a few things, including a little wall cabinet I inherited, but a lot of my inks are in an IKEA Kallax with some of the divider shelves they make for those. I have the two tier shelves and also a 9-hole wine shelf insert for inks. The shelves are probably better. Easier to find things in.

It could be that, but 🤷🏼‍♂️. It’s always a triangle of pen-ink-paper for that sort of thing, though.

It could be the ink, but paper probably has a larger share in that equation. Writing pressure won’t matter unless you’re mashing it hard enough to mess up your nib.

It’s not about the paper’s weight. More about the coating, really. And the ink, of course. Some is just more prone to bleeding and some flows wetter than others.

How’re you making a cartridge mess? They’re pretty self-contained…

It feels worse to me when small companies pal up with bad causes. More personal due to it probably being one person instead of some corporate thing. I don’t like that Lamy did the HP collab, but it also doesn’t feel as purposeful. They didn’t have to raise Kickstarter money or put in any effort. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’ve had a Grand Voyager XL for years, and it’s still beautiful. The super expensive ones from PR are trifold, and I think that style takes up too much desk space. If I’m spending big money on a cover it’ll be William Hannah or Rotterfaden.

I mean the texture on the outside of the pen. The nib is okay, as I remember.
