Ethel is my character in my curse of strahd campaign, and is a warforged built to look like the real Ethel who passed away. The reason she's dressed so stuffy in summer is because she has joints like a ball jointed doll that need to be kept hidden to maintain the ruse.

Edwin found the sword half-buried under an old bridge, its metal dull and ordinary. It didn’t speak to him until years later, when he drew it in a fight he had no business being in. Since then, the blade has pushed him toward bolder choices, convinced he’s meant for more.
