Yeah, it is a huge shame. I don't have any easy answers.
There are some styles that immediately make me suspicious these days, and I really don't like feeling paranoid when I'm just trying to find cool art.

The incentive is that I like making it :)
I'm mostly in communities with folk making their own things, so I'm not really worried about anyone assuming my work isn't my work, either.
It helps that my subject matter is stuff that AI can't do very well, I'd say the same of yours!
