This book is hyper-real, detailing myriad global rebellions, policy changes and inventions all from the perspective of lived experience. And a hot trans person who breaks then reinvents the Internet, obviously.

Cozy speculative fiction that also scientifically checks out - all her books are pretty great in the vein of 'imagining survivable futures'

Red Green is my favorite uncle. I found this at a tiny bookstore and was so delighted by the fact it exists and the content is exactly what you'd expect.

I read this on a wooden train that took 14 hours to get from Bucharest to the town in the Transylvanian mountains where i was going to work when i was 19.

Also there is a deep appeal to the complicated but visceral vampyric lust 🖤

I went through a significant groupie phase, and this book was almost as hot. It's also what the movie Almost Famous is based on.

Really any of Ursula Le Guin's speculative work. Speculative fiction is the ethnography of hypothetical futures, when done right. And she always does it right💅
