Oof. Another mark on the “con” side of the let-people-interpret-the-gospels-for themselves question.

FIFA is monstrous. Maybe Loretta Lynch's work would have done the trick if she'd used wooden stakes or garlic or holy water.

It’s an absolute atrocity regardless.

But remember that those in power telling us these nearing 100 people executed from the sky are definitely drug traffickers are the same people who told us the guy sent to CECOT based on an autism awareness tattoo was definitely Tren de Aragua.
U.S. Southern Command says that the Defense Department carried out another “lethal kinetic strike” at Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s direction on a vessel in the eastern Pacific Ocean that killed four men.
U.S. Southern Command says it conducted a new 'lethal kinetic strike' on alleged drug boat
The U.S. has carried out at least 22 known strikes on alleged drug traffickers in recent months.

GEO Group, currently grifting the American taxpayer for incalculable sums of money thru Trump's mass deportation ops, gave 92% of their 2024 campaign contributions to GOP candidates. GEO's favorite (only?) Dem, just got a pardon. Friends in high places, I guess.

Making some assumptions here but it sounds like her immigration court case resulted in administrative closure. If that's right, they didn't even have a removal order but still arrested her and unlawfully deported her within 48 hrs, actions that should get people fired.

Repugnant all around. But this:

"..opportunity to return to America the right, legal way"

being directed at those who listened to the U.S. tell them to just wait for a CBP One appt to do it the legal way, waited months in impossible circumstances to get their appt, just to be treated like this.
These are screenshots from an actual DHS press release that just went out offering "self-deportation" as a "gift" to "illegal aliens" this holiday season.

This administration is truly repugnant.

I'm not sure what the continuation is and I'm not going there to look, but I'm assuming this is referring to them getting Social Security _benefits_, when what they're really getting is Social Security _numbers_, so they can pay for other people's benefits.
This is not true. Musk is endorsing (again) a version of the white nationalist great replacement theory, as told by Stephen Miller.

It is a conspiracy theory and it was confined to the fringes of the Internet until 10 or so years ago.

If true, Harris would’ve easily won in 2024.

“I can’t recall any other example of a federal policy that provoked quite so much litigation in such a short period of time—or in which so many judges from across the geographical and ideological spectrum so overwhelmingly rejected the executive branch’s new interpretation of the relevant statutes.”
195. The Immigration Detention Flood
The Trump administration's attempt to quietly—but massively—expand who can be detained pending their removal has been met with overwhelming pushback from a remarkably large number of district courts.

The good thing is that with the agency’s integrity and credibility at stake, every agent who falsified reports or lied in sworn testimony will face internal agency investigation and discipline… actually they’re probably minting themselves commemorative coins celebrating the whole thing
THREAD: Judge Ellis is the first federal judge to review extensive body cam video of DHS's actions in Chicago. She finds that DHS *repeatedly* misled the public and made claims that were disproven by agents' own videos.

I'll go through some of the most egregious ones here.

Immigration lawyers remember the gov't going down a similar road in Niz-Chavez. Didn't end great for them there.
Do these federal prosecutors understand that an "indictment" is a charging *document*? Like, the actual pages that formally charge someone with a crime?

okay, figured out how to find the opinion and now see fn 1; you would think something pretending to be a real court would appoint counsel or something to ensure an actual adversarial process before issuing a precedential opinion, but here we are

What hardliners don't understand or don't care to understand is that the whole American legal immigration structure depends on there being a bit of give in the joints.

Everything collapses without it and that's the direction USCIS is headed.

So the terms we had Bukele agree to were basically “no lawyers, no abortions.”

No mention about keeping them safe or not torturing them.
