This from a criminal barrister shows why the court system is in crisis👇🏻. Nothing to do with juries causing it. Move the furniture round while the house is burning, you only end up with ashes. Tonight, The Standard reports on OBR Chair’s resignation, but it’s this snippet that caught my eye. Is it really that they think it has happened before OR imo, is it more likely said person KNEW the OBR was going to drop it early. A tip off? 👀 This seems v suspect. OBR is independent, obviously 😏.

We should all be up in arms about this. The budget and other events are (possibly conveniently) causing distraction. The right to trial by jury is an enshrined democratic right.

The UK has gone from "We need to enshrine the right to jury trial in a British Bill of Rights" to "We need to abolish jury trial" in the space of about 3 years.
