Misunderstanding the force goes a long way back - I recall David Gerrold describing how Kenobi should’ve taught Luke about the force via physical transfer of Wizard Lightning Power™ in an early Starlog article! I much prefer the force = nature / Jedi = dogma approach ⬇️
