If you've not heard @untruth-band.bsky.social before, give this a listen. They should be as famous as Arcade Fire or Crowded House. Hearing them next to Coldplay makes you realise how the latter really are the Enya of indie. Slap on their quality tunes. You will still be singing along decades later.
We released Almost Here Live a year ago today. Who's heard it? Who likes it? Who hates it? Who's indifferent to it? That's how the internet works, isn't it?

A new hope. Will it help parties on the left stop being so scared of being... left? This guy and @zackpolanski.bsky.social are my antidotes to doomscrolling and are the answer to populist authoritarians. There must be more like these folks out there. We need you.

It's true. Poverty is a choice.

A choice made by billionaires to take all the money working people create while holding down wages, refuse to contribute to the country that made them, empower politicians to steal the resources we generate for our common good.

1/ Great messaging from @zackpolanski.bsky.social that gives voters an alternative - accurate - way to understand who is to blame for their hard times. Farage, parroted by Labour and amplified by the media, has made migration the 'common sense' explanation for many people for why everything sucks.

Well that's naïve. These folks are pretty strategic. This is just one step on a longer journey for those behind the movement to reverse progress towards towards equality for all sorts of people. Changes to access to abortion care and marriage equality, are probably next on the list.

Minister hopes supreme court’s gender ruling will ‘draw a line’ under trans debate – UK politics live
Health minister Karen Smyth says ‘it’s good we have clarity for women’ as Tories call for ruling to be ‘reinforced with legislation’ The co-leader of the Green party of England and Wales, Carla Denyer, has accused the government of treating asylum seekers as “like pawns on a chess board.” Responding to reports that the UK and France are in discussions about a possible migrant return deal, the MP for Bristol Central said: The government is treating human beings like pawns on a chess board, indifferent to the human suffering caused by this inhumane system. Keeping someone apart from their family, who they’re entitled to join in the UK, as a negotiation tactic, is heartbreaking. Government needs to instead step up and offer safe and legal routes to pull the rug from the illegal people smugglers. As it stands, many of those with legitimate asylum claims have no legitimate way of reaching the UK – this intolerable situation cannot be allowed to continue. I think your key word there is compromise. We’ve seen a lot of ill-informed and often quite offensive debate over recent years. I think that this ruling, clarifying that tin he Equality Act that parliament intended, that sex means biological sex, and that other people with other characteristics are also protected, is welcome. And I hope that compromise, working together, is absolutely the order of the day. Continue reading...

The biggest divide is not between “right” and “left."

It’s between democracy and oligarchy.

The billionaires who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us.

They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see that they have all the wealth and power.
