I finally felt able to write a bit today, and have just finished typing up all five recipes to go in 'Taste', my WIP food themed genre collection.

Just the final edits to go on the opening novella, then I can compile it all and send to the publisher I'm hoping will take it on!

This time last week I was packing to leave @worldfantasy2025.bsky.social. It was a strange con for me as I was deep in bereavement, but the support of so many wonderful friends and loved ones kept me going.

Here are a few highlights, and there will be a load more on my Ida Keogh FB page.

To be fair, you are exceedingly easy to photograph, gorgeous one.

Cake update: The tiny petit four sized cakes turned out even better. So you're all going to want to come to my book launch when this collection is finally done and out because damn these are tasty little bites and I can make a lot of them this size for anyone attending.

For my sins, I am writing recipes to go with each story in WIP food based genre collection. One story features a bergamot infused genoise sponge with lavender Chantilly cream. This is my first attempt at making it a reality - it was SO GOOD! 😋🧁

Ohhhh, Monkey World! I haven't been there since forever. See also Merley Bird Gardens. I made it to Studland - very long but beautiful hike and back via Old Harry. Most of South Beach where I grew up rockpooling is sadly lost to coastal erosion though.
Ida, long ginger hair all tousled by the wind, grinning like a loon despite being close to a very dangerous cliff edge. In the distance, a stunning mint and turquoise sea on a sunny day with puffs of cloud, white cliffs and two jagged stray rocks to their south needling towards the sky.
