Catherine O’Hara was beautiful. She was loud, she was assertive, she took up her space and demanded some of everyone else’s too. She will be so missed.

Someday I aspire to be so organized that I pack slippers on vacation.
These sock-like slippers are as good for working from home as they are for taking on vacation. "I wear them more than any other single item in my wardrobe." nyti.ms/4q8BaNv

God, Catherine O'Hara. An icon and staple from my childhood watching SCTV all the way to her turn as the iconic Moira Rose. What a joy and light in the world. May her memory be a blessing. ❤️

Federal immigration officers wear a bewildering array of labels, tactical gear and clothing accessories from different agencies, often wearing masks and refusing to identify themselves.

It's sometimes not possible to know which agency an individual works for.

I've unfortunately seen this make a comeback in the classroom, in addition to several other slurs. It's disappointing, but it's a daily battle I fight and I will continue to do so before these young adults go out into the world because it's the right thing to do.
If I see you use this word, I'll block you. If you use it "satirically" I'll block you. Using it at all today is a really fine test of character.

I've had some of my books edited because I used it twenty years ago and I'm ashamed today of having used it.

If you think this is interesting, wait until you hear my story about a man that wanted breakfast at 10:31, Cini-Minis, and a hearse.
Burger King Blueberry Biscuits (2010-circa 2013): Four blueberry biscuits, served with a container of icing, similar to the kind that came with Toaster Strudel. These biscuits were part of a revamped breakfast/brunch menu that BK was banking on to revive slumping morning sales.

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.

"how you treat people is who are are" is a WORD this evening.
If being disrespectful to black women is a means to your supposed antifascist end, fuck you and your revolution.

losing my mind at the "she should have followed directions" people

really? really? you're cool with "if you don't follow directions, they get to kill you"? that seems like a good state of affairs to you? that seems like how law enforcement ought to work: instant obeisance or death?

in these moments, in my view, it is a political and spiritual DUTY for my outrage and anger to be as fresh as if I'd never heard how they shot Fred Hampton in his bed. As fresh as if I didn't know Bobby Hutton was surrendering when they shot him. 1/2

every. single. day.
it is your DUTY as a parent to be basic and cringe. if your child says "6-7" and you do not say, loud enough for their friends to hear, "8-9?", causing profound silence and intense discomfort, you are neglecting your responsibilities. being cool is for kids. your days of being laughed WITH are over
