more wires for @trains.bsky.social - harnessing up the blower motor, which turns on both when explicitly enabled via a switch, but also when the thermostat in the motor windings closes. I forgot to put braiding on the thermostat wires and will have to fix that.

correct, and the light fixture is chromed plastic, so Id want a softer punch anyhow
Picked up a cheap set that I'll mess with to see if it might just work/get a better sense of what I'd actually need to make it work if not-will be a smidge till everything arrives to mess with but Ill reach back out

I think I'm gonna try bodging this with a non-rivet style socket and some appropriately sized brass rivets - might need a custom punch / die turned if you're down?

yea.. there might be screw on sockets that could work? the side markers are unobtanium basically and I'm lucky mine are cosmetically good - the sockets are just fully rusted out. Not much room / spare parts to mess with an alternate socket unfortunately

yea I thought I'd have better luck with digikey... I can find a lot of 1895 bulb sockets, but they're already riveted onto a base - I need to find the shells so I can rivet it into the marker light... going higher in the supply chain flow chart than the typical consumer I guess

hey weird car / surprisingly model train bluesky, and leads on where I can get replacement mini bayonet lamp style rivet on sockets / internals? Found some potential ones being sold as a Lionel replacement.
The wedge side marker lights have good housings and lenses but need new internals.
