Solicitor Sean McElligott earlier highlighted how Head 3(1)(d) suggests the NCSC could essentially 'unplug' anyone and do whatever they want, to whomever they want, whenever they want, without any regulatory supervision whatsoever. (10/15)

This evening TDs will debate a bill that would remove the right to a jury trial in defamation cases and leave the decision to a judge alone.

ICCL believes that this would be a mistake. We urge TDs to retain jury trials for defamation cases.
