30 degrees—a good day to wear the hand-knit sweater I got in Ireland last year and leg warmers. Scarf is from Ireland too. Vintage Fendi 365 coat. Knit cap from Walgreens.

It was lovely to see so many people excited to see them too, and keeping a respectful distance. The owls kept turning their heads to look at us as if to say, “what’s all the fuss?”

While snowy owls have been sighted there before, they apparently usually only stay a day or two. These two had been there about five days as of the 22nd. Probably a male and a female. (I’ll repost some better photos by others)

It snowed! But the streets were clear enough for me to bike to an appointment in the afternoon. 35 degrees—not too bad! I just bundled up in long underwear, a heavy sweater, wool scarf, and a parka. If I were riding far, this might have actually been too warm.

There was a period in high school and college where I only wore black. I wasn’t a goth, but it’s what I felt most comfortable in. Every once in a while I still feel that way.

We also visited St. Boniface and Graceland cemeteries, neither of which I had been to before in my decades of living here. I want to be cremated but honestly it’s tempting to think of spending eternity in such beautiful environments.
