Just been talking to the theatre about ticket sales; the phrase ‘flying out’ was used.
Act quickly:

Great question.
So many - every Western ever, The Searchers, Liberty Valance, Butch Cassidy
But also It’s A Wonderful Life, A Matter Of Life and Death
And one of his favourites, the brilliant Rififi

A lovely night out at @liverpoolempire.bsky.social for Calamity Jane, a charming musical from a kinder age; excellent performances from everyone on stage, a real feel good show.

Incredible night at @royalcourtliv.bsky.social last night for Phillip Breen’s stunning adaptation of David Peace’s Red Or Dead.
A myth, a fable, a legend, the true story of one man, his work, a city, its football team and its fans.
See it while you can.

It’s the Derby tonight. A massive game in any season, extra charged as we move toward that tantalising 20th league title.
Am I really going to use that fact to plug my new play?
Of course I am, the title’s not a coincide you know

A fantastic night at Liverpool Empire last night for the local leg of an epic six month tour of Boys From The Blackstuff; excellent performances from all concerned especially Jay Johnson as a savagely broken Yosser Hughes.
You need to see it.

Post a picture of when your pet was little.
Daisy, the first week we had her (best photo I’ve ever taken)

This morning’s listen, as I finish the pitch for one project and start the script for another:
The Springsteen-esque, Spector-ish mad grandeur of The Mighty Wah! with Songs Of Strength And Heartbreak.

I’m presuming there’s somebody out there that owns this little gem?

Just opened up a box of 7” singles. Ultravox (the Hohn Foxx version though they seem to have lost the !)
Hiroshima Mon Amour (violin and guitar version, no drum machine) sounding incredible as it ever did.

Current listening; 25p in the Rough Trade sale. It’s excellent, great light jazz listening, wonderful to work to.
(I bought another LP for 25p at the same time, won’t tell you who it was by but they’re a globally famous star. It was awful 😂)

In 1989 I got into the first Stone Roses album because it reminded me of The Church’s early stuff.
Finally got a vinyl copy of Heyday last week.

Just the four but Jelly Shed stays for quite a while in a wonderful Velvets/Faust/Neu sort of way
(I can see the Chameleons comparison), great ep

A Marshmallow Overcoat test pressing.

Current listening, the Violent Femmes 5th album - not in the same level as their first two but had its moments (and was six quid in the sale, so…)

This morning’s listening, one of the most wonderful albums of all time

Train reading. Laughing out loud. Just perfect dialogue.

Current listening - the phenomenal, massively underrated, Remo Four.
Since we finished the run of Girls Don’t Play Guitars the universe had been sending me Star Club Label albums on a regular basis.
(Colin Manley was a stunning guitarist, this is one hell of an album)

Last book of 24 becomes the first of 25, its successor sits below it; both gifts from my brilliant wife:
