Good day out around Somerset. WF Geese at Sharpham and Pawlett Hams, Tundra Bean Geese at Pawlett Hams, Black Necked Grebe and 4 Scaup at Cheddar Reservoir. Also: Perregrine, Sparrowhawk, Egrets, Lapwings, Barnacle Goose.

Great, "biggish day' around W Cornwall with @devontess.bsky.social and @p-sharpe.bsky.social. We managed 88 species, dawn to dusk, despite missing some "sitters" and getting the tide at Hayle wrong. Highlights: L Scaup (m+f), Scaup, Goldeneye, Spoonbill, R-Necked Duck, Perregrine, Marsh Harrier.

A double dip to start the year! No Pacific Diver or Dusky Warbler but we still managed 75Highlights species around W Cornwall. : Spoonbill, Merlin, Firecrests everywhere, Merlin, Chough, GND, Scaup. Lowlight: I face planted in a big muddy puddle. #cornwallbirding

Managed a couple of decent views of the Dusky Warbler at Boscanthnoe Res this afternoon. Around Hayle: Curlew Sandpiper, Ad Caspian Gull, Ad RN Gull. Firecrests at Boscathnoe and Lelant. #cornwallbirding

Morocco day 7. Spent our last full day on the hairpin bends of the Atlas Mountains. Bird highlights: 3 Golden Eagles together, Rock Buntings, Black Wheatears, more Tristram's Warblers!
The real highlght was the scenery. Big thanks to @naturevc12.bsky.social for expert guiding and storytelling.

Morocco day 6. Spent the day in the Sous valley in hot sunshine. Undoubted highlight was this roosting Red Necked Nighhtjar. Also: Bonelli's Eagle, Osprey, Marsh Harrier, Glossy and Bald Ibis, Moussier's Redstarts.
Lowlight was failing to find the Black Crowned Tchagra's that were calling distantly.

Morocco day 5. Some of over 300 Audoin's Gulls seen at the Estuary de Asif N'Dou. A day of coastal birding and big surf. Other highlights: more Bald Ibis and a "rare for here" Golden Plover.

Morocco day 4. Some of over 300 Bald Ibis we saw today on the cliffs of the Sous Massa NP..that's nearly half of the wild population. Fun sea watch nearby produced 1 Arctic Skua plus a small Skua which might have been LT. Also at least Morocanus ssp Cormorant.

Day 3, Morocco our star bird was this stonking Thick-Billed Lark the 3rd of our 4 targetd for the trip. Spotted whlie watching s flock of 100+ Black Bellied Sandgrouse it was very confiding and was joined by at least one other. Other highlights included: Hoopoe Larks, Tristram's Warbler, Wheatears!

Day 2 in the desert near Sidi Idni. Great early morning with 2 lifers: Striped Scrub Warbler and Tristram's Warbler. Also several Desert Warblers.
Later Hoopoe and Desert Larks, many Desert and Redrumped Wheatear. Ended at a small pool teeming with Chiffs, LRP and Green Sandpipers.

Good to be back in Morocco, though most of the day spent travelling. Star bird a fab Mouussier's Redstart just outside the hotel. Also several Hooded Wheatear, many Common Bulbul's, House Buntings, Laughing Doves.

Last day on Scilly, despite a cancelled Ferry and hastily arranged flight it's been great. One lifer (Mourning Dove) but it's Firecrests everywhere, Ouzels,Thrushes, Jack Snipe that make the place special. That and friends to share a beer with. Thanks to @p-sharpe.bsky.social for making it fun.
