Special Criminal Court vibes though.
But there is a lot more scrutiny on verdicts because they're reserved for serious crimes (organised crime/terrorist offences where paramilitary orgs could intimidate juries) rather than the minor offences.

The Special Criminal Court is different from the other criminal courts dealing with serious crimes because it sits with 3 judges and no jury. Other serious crimes are dealt with by a judge and a jury. It only deals with certain criminal cases. It hears cases about paramilitary, subversive and organised crimes, but much of its workload now involves organised crime cases. Since 2016, there are 2 courts dealing with matters referred to the Special Criminal Court. The Special Criminal Courts were set up under the Offences Against the State Act 1939 .

The phenomenon of the breakdown of information flow to the dictator has received the name of The Dictator’s Dilemma using the terminology from the work of Wintrobe [1]. Since the dictator is assumed to be all-powerful in society, the advisors who help run the country are enticed to flatter his performance and the results of his policies. The dictator may desire objective information but have no way of gathering it.
