“I think that separation of church and state is weaker than it has been in a really long time,” says Rabbi David Segal, Policy Counsel for the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty, a watchdog for these kinds of issues.

"It may be time, not for statements, but for us with our bodies to stand between the powers of this world and the most vulnerable,” Bishop Rob Hirschfeld said.

On the ground here in Minnesota, it’s hard to reconcile the immense bonds of community that have been built in a week with the fact that we live in a country whose government appropriated billions of dollars to an unaccountable paramilitary force whose sole purpose is ethnic cleansing.

Recklessly inaccurate, since both qualified immunity (civil) and Supremacy Clause immunity (criminal) hinge upon officers’ actions being (1) lawful, and (2) within their authority. Constitutional limits aren’t optional. State officials may arrest for criminal conduct.

Friendly reminder: Over the summer I investigated for @rollingstone.com how Trump’s DOJ personally intervened to stop Washington from making clergy report child abuse. Do with that what you will in light of the Epstein Files:

According to the DOJ, they have released less than 1% of the more than 2 million Epstein Files:

As I wrote for @rollingstone.com, "What started as a border program to collect migrants’ DNA has evolved into the architecture of a biometric surveillance state — a system that could soon watch us all, no matter how far we are from the border."

Just an FYI
We are sure it’s just a coincidence, but today is the statuatory date for the DOJ to explain its redactions in the Epstein file productions.

We have not forgotten, and we won’t let up - regardless of the President’s new unconstitutional actions.

If the U.S. has really seized a sitting foreign president and flown him out of his country, this is not only an act of war, but a regime removal. Explosive constitutional and international law implications. Developing.

The Grand Ole Opry was my first concert, during a trip in '01 while taking my great grandpa’s ashes back to Tennessee for his funeral. That night, as a young kid, I was changed forever, and my love affair with this great music began. Happy 100th, Opry!
The Grand Ole Opry is turning 100. As the country music institution celebrates a century of its radio broadcast, listen to how the show defined the culture — and was reshaped by it — decade by decade.
