This video doesn’t show ICE beating Angelenos protesting against ICE. It show LAPD beating them. Bass and the LAPD are collaborators with ICE and with fascism. bsky.app/profile/long...
LAPD bring out mounted police force—trample crowd of ICE protesters.

Agent hit protester so hard with 40 inch baton—he broke it over woman's head.

"You cracked me in the head," she yells. "What is wrong with you? Whoa!"

They use unique Bokken-style wooden impact baton.

I’m sure there are sincere, hardworking members, but as an organization DSA-LA effectively endorses the policies of Karen Bass: sweeps of homeless Angelenos; an LAPD that assaults journalists & peaceful protesters while collaborating with ICE; and deteriorating city infrastructure.

We need social housing to step in for a failed market. And instead of hostile architecture, LA needs an architecture of kindness, with public restrooms, free public transit, people-centered streets, and parks and public spaces in every neighborhood

Unfortunately, a network of public restrooms probably wouldn’t fly at the moment with many voters, concerned they’d be “trashed” by homeless Angelenos. It’s just one of several quality-of-life improvements made difficult to achieve without properly addressing homelessness.

If Austin Beutner thinks highlighting the affordability crisis will fill the sails of his campaign as it did Zohran’s, he should remember that Zohran’s campaign offered tangible policies (free childcare, free buses, etc.) to address said crisis, not just “transparency” vaporware.

DSA-LA is the Chuck Schumer of progressive politics.

Don’t you believe it. bsky.app/profile/dday...
SCOOP: Schumer was more involved than reported with the attempted cave on the government shutdown. The Gang of 8 Senate Dems had his approval & he was getting daily updates.
In Thursday's caucus meeting, the Gang claimed they had 10 votes to cave. The caucus went nuts, leading to the new proposal.
Why Does Schumer Keep Trying to Cave? - The American Prospect
Most commentators, including me, concluded that the Tuesday election victory saved Democrats from capitulating to Republican demands to pass a simple continuing resolution to re-open the government, i...

Just don’t count on DSA-LA as “opposition.” They can’t even keep their endorsed council members in line as they order sweeps of homeless Angelenos, vote for higher LAPD budgets, or vote to spend hundreds of millions of 💰for a convention center revamp as city services and infrastructure deteriorate.
